...map of Pangkor Island...
Date: 27th - 29th August 2010
It was a sudden plan to Pangkor Island that weekend...I seriously mean SUDDEN! I browsed through some weekend holiday plans on the internet and I came across a 'Jom Santai' package to Pangkor Island and decided to give it a call and mana tahu, we got the package booked, paid and organized.
Day 1: Friday (holiday for Nuzur Quran)
Lynn and I drove from Cheras at 5.30am to the petrol station for a fuel refill before heading straight to North-South Highway to Bidor for breakfast. Our time estimation were all accurate and we finally reached Lumut at 9.30am for a ferry to Pangkor Island.
...and the Facebook status update started...
We checked into Puteri Bayu Pangkor Resort and had a good rest before cycling out to get lunch (the sun was seriously hot that afternoon). After lunch, it was a stroll at the beach (again, under the hot sun) for photo takings. It was a relaxing first day on the island. The first thing that I looked forward to was the sea...and I was rather disappointed to see that the sea was more greenish than bluish *sob sob*
...had to climb up the tree to take this photo...
But, the sunset was beautiful and thank goodness we didn't missed it. We were just in time to catch the final few minutes before the sun disappears. Later that night, we went out to the nearest restaurant for a great dinner.
...the sunset...
Day 2: Saturday
It was another relaxing day for us with breakfast, lunch and dinner in the resort (provided in our package. We were supposed to head out for snorkeling but there weren't anyone going out so we went out to the beach for our sun bathing moments (during the 12pm sun). Since we had an Island Excursion (on land) free in our package, we redeemed it that afternoon. We hopped into a pink van and explored the whole island - temples, beaches, Chinese village, Malay village, etc.
...land Island Excursion...
Day 3: Sunday
It was our last day on the island. We hopped into a boat out for Island Excursion on Sea. We went around looking at rock formations and was left (casted away) on Monkey Beach (literally, there were a lot of monkeys around) for couple of hours for swim, snorkeling (yeah right~ there's nothing to see!). The boat came and picked us up at 12.30pm and we had to quickly shower and packed and checked out. We took the ferry out from the island at 2.30pm and drove to Lumut town to have McDonalds before heading back home.
...the sand and the sea of Pangkor...
Though it was just a 3 days 2 nights trip to Pangkor, it was a great one - relaxed and rejuvenated. I never had so much time to eat, sleep, sun bath and chill in any of my vacations. I am glad we made the trip.
Another time to Pangkor? ...hmm, I'll think about it.
*diving was RM250 per dive in a fishing boat at Pulau Sembilan! -cut throat-
