Nasi Lemak is something I sometimes crave for. Where in the world do you find nasi lemak as delicious as the ones in Malaysia. But, for once, I felt that the pack of nasi lemak I bought was not up to the taste...well, it is not because of the taste in general, but because of the people selling them.
1Malaysia?
This part of the story, I think not...
For once I felt discriminated buying a pack of nasi lemak...why? The scenario was...
I stood in front of the stall just outside my house to buy a pack of nasi lemak for dinner. In front of me was a Malay lady who bought two packs of nasi lemak with telur goreng and a piece of ayam goreng. In total, it costed her RM8 for 2 packs. So it was my turn in line. Instead of having nasi lemak, I asked for nasi putih, ayam goreng and telur goreng with no kuah. At first the lady charged me for RM3.50. I looked at her and ordered a Bandung Ice bungkus. For a moment, she stared at me, her eyes looked up and down at me. She then called for the guy who made the drinks and back at me before saying...RM3.50...RM4.50...RM6.00!
O.O!
RM6.00 for that pack of rice and bandung ice! I showed her a WTF look but it didn't seemed to bother her. I didn't want to say much, so I paid.
While waiting for the Bandung ice, an Indian lady was packing the exact same pack of Nasi Lemak as the Malay lady had; with telur goreng and ayam goreng. And guess how much hers costed??? RM5.00!
Hmm...amazingly how different the price was. I was very annoyed and disgusted by that scenario. I took my Bandung ice and went off without even saying 'Thank You'. I wonder how they can openly do such a thing. I swore that I'll never go there to buy anything from them ever again!
Of Nasi Lemak discrimination...
