...the color filters Angie got for my SLR...

...my favourite hang-out place in Jonker Street; Geographers...

...and a picture of me, looking at the Straits of Melaka...

It was a short but awesome trip!
Should have more trips elsewhere some other time!

Year of the Tiger

*this is a very late post*

It's the year of the Tiger!
To all the Tiger babies, let's ROAR to the New Year!

Happy Chinese New Year 2010.
May you be filled with abundant blessings in the year of the Tiger!

Packing for Redang!

Traveled 7 hours of bus ride from Kuala Lumpur to Kuala Terengganu last Friday for a job interview at Berjaya Redang Resort. Met 7 other interviewees in the island and had an afternoon of briefing, interviews and chit-chats. Went surfing (the waves were huge) in the sea and star gazed the night through.

Traveled 7 hours of bus ride from Kuala Terengganu to Kuala Lumpur and another 2 hours of bus ride from Kuala Lumpur to Melaka to meet my family for Chinese New Year.

After contemplating for 3 days, I've decided to accept the job and is now packing my bags to leave for Redang for 8 months!

Looking forward to next Tuesday~!

A Short Experience In Frost & Sullivan

My experience in Frost & Sullivan was rather...SHORT! ...to be exact, it was only 5 working days in the office and later, I submitted my resignation (a one day notice somemore~) to HR and my supervisor. I would love to stay on and complete my 3 months internship in Aerospace and Defense, but something else awaits me...

The 5 days in F&S was amazing. The interns and contractors were great people (not to mention that we are of almost the same age), so lunch was always around Plaza Mont Kiara with them. Got to know all the interns and contractors from both Block C and Block E.

Day 1 of internship was rather...boring...yes!...it's pretty normal for an internship but the moment after I had my brief from my supervisor, I was stuck on my desk, facing my computer the whole afternoon googl'ing for 'Airport Development'. Learnt a lot, though...ask me questions about airport, and I am happy to provide you with the answer~

Day 3 (Thursday), we had a funny experience in the office where we had no chairs the whole morning. Anyway, we had a good lunch in the office and later, 13 of us went for our Chinese New Year dinner at Taman Paramout where............................

...the very be-early Lou Sang...

...and lots more food!...

It was a great night. Though I barely knew everyone there at that time, we all had fun. We then had a drink at Brussels, Jaya One for the night before we went home, get early sleep and prepare for work on Friday.

So, Monday comes, and on my 5th day at work, I resigned. The whole day in the office was...*how should I put it*...miserable...when I had to wait for the answer and it was a little hard for me to tell my colleagues that it was my last day. But 6pm came, and I bid everyone farewell and handed my tag over and left the office.

Though it was a very short experience in Frost & Sullivan, but it was a great one.

Hope to have another opportunity to work with the company, to work with the great colleagues again in the future.

Wall Climbing.

I had my first wall climbing experience in Mid Valley during the Asia Adventure Show 2009. Was actually looking around for dive packages and Gunung Kinabalu climb packages until at about 2pm, a wall climbing competition started.

I registered myself and was the only female contestant at that time and was the first to climb. All participants will try to climb the wall in the fastest time.

It was fun though~ although I didn't manage to reach the top. Will definitely go for more wall climbing soon!

...that's me...

In the office...

How did I manage to access my blog in the office?
Since the first day on the job, the internet has been seriously blocked (no facebook, no online newspapers, no important website...sometimes).

It's just after lunch and I'm sitting in front of my desktop, wondering what is there to do? It's not that I don't have anything to do, but waiting for an answer which I've been longing to know since morning is killing me.

It is now 5 days of me working here in the office of Frost & Sullivan in the Aerospace and Defense department researching on a GPS on Airport Development in Asia Pacific. Sounds amazing right? Yes, it is indeed an amazing experience to be here in this office and working on this project.

But, as far as the excitement is concern, I am now waiting for an answer whether I am allow to quit this internship by today. Why? It's a long story and I intend not to speak of it. All I have to say is that, I have another job waiting for me... that is why I decided to stop this internship.

I do hope and pray so much that things will come out differently. Whatever happened that day did not happen. Whatever we said was never said. But, looks like there's nothing much I can do to keep what is lost.

I'm frustrated.
I'm furious.
But, this is one step that I've never imagined I will do, even after 2 years.

Everyone around me is working. I am here, sitting and waiting in frustration to know what the verdict is. I have plans today, tomorrow and for this week. I pray that all goes as plan and things will change, slowly.

It's another countdown to 6pm...

Of Raleigh KL Meetup and Legion

Date: 6th February 2010
Venue: Bukit Jalil Park

Christal introduced Catherine and I to Raleigh KL February Meetup in Bukit Jalil Park. We started off with introduction (the toilet paper method) and was then split into teams for treasure hunt...for our food!

Our team won the treasure hunt and got ourselves a packet of food. Then it was eating time. There were nasi lemak, tuna bread, crackers, biscuits, snacks, etc. We were being introduced to Raleigh KL of the works that they have done and going to do.

...the treasure hunt team...

...the food that we won...

...the angpow, fortune cookie and orange giveaway...

It was one fun gathering that morning.
Catherine and I left earlier and went for a movie at Tropicana City Mall...and guess what, we waltz right into the ticketing counter, the popcorn counter and there were only 6-8 people watching the show. It was superbly cold in the big theater.

...we watched Legion...

Though I heard of many bad comments about this movie, to me, it was alright. Angel fighting angel story and not to mention I actually don't watch stories with people crawling on the ceiling and also with the ice-cream man aka the rubber man! It was scary at some time...

Of Raleigh KL Meetup and Legion...it was a great Saturday~

1st week on the job...

Today is Saturday, and it has been a week! ...well, technically it's 4 days only...

This new job is very interesting.
It's a 9am-6pm, 1 hour lunch, sitting in front of the desktop, with a telephone on the left, in a circle'ish table, with other interns and contractors...

It was a great first week on the job~
Looking forward for the next 11 weeks!

Shopping?

I never spent so many days in the shopping centre until 4 days ago...

Day 1
I went to Kelana Jaya for breakfast with Lynn before driving to One Utama and spent 2 hours looking for my office clothes in Jusco and Parkson. I then took the train to Bukit Bintang and had coffee with Hiew in McDonalds until dinner.

Day 2
Lynn called at 9.30am, asking me whether I can accompany her in Bukit Bintang while she waited 3 hours for her medicine. I took the train down to have brunch with her in Jalan Alor and then met up with Sharon at Mid Valley for lunch before embarking on the worst public transport adventure ever! ...what happen... The shuttle bus from Mid Valley to Bangsar broke down after I waited 30 minutes at the bus stop, so I went on a RapidKL bus that heads to University LRT Station only to find out that the bus driver stops in the middle of Federal Highway. I decided to change my destination which led me to SS2 and it took me 15 minutes under the rain to get a taxi to Kelana Jaya. It got worse after I took the train to KL Sentral and waited 10 minutes in line to get a train ticket and later to wait 60 minutes to get on a taxi.

Day 3
Had a date with Jessica at Mid Valley. I was squished in the train heading to KL Sentral and we had to figure out the way to Mid Valley without being squished again and slaughtered by the taxi driver. We spent the whole afternoon in Mid Valley, queuing up for KFC and a free donut at Krispy Kreme (I think this is how it was spelt *smiles*). Alex, Choulyee, Choulyin and I then went to Tesco Ampang for grocery shopping...and it was jam packed with people!

Day 4
We woke up early to Ikano and had Ikea's Meatball for lunch. Managed to get a set of office clothes there. It was also another long day in a very crowded shopping centre.

Yes! Shopping is indeed very tiring and it burns a big hole in the pocket. Looks like no CNY shopping for me this year~ all invested on my office clothes!
