Bidayuh.Info Gathering

20th December 2007 @ Aroma Cafe
Tiffany called and invited me to the Bidayuh.Info Gathering at 7pm; and further more, she drives! Of course la, I agree to go. Yeap, we were there, our first time, for the buffet dinner, karaoke, music and liquor gathering. Everyone were strangers to both of us but as we sat a little longer, me made lots of new people and soon started our chit-chats and jokes and photo takings. Lucky for Tiff and I, I brought my camera along...

The night started with short speeches by the founder of the website (www.bidayuh.info). Then, we had a short prayer and its time for food! The ladies went for the food and soon, the sound system was ready and there were nice music *although it was a little too loud - shouting in each others' ears*.

After the food was liquor time - bottles of Black Label, Jack Daniels, Bicardi and beers. The guys asked what we want and helped us ordered from the mini bar. In the mean time, it was karaoke session - Bidayuh songs, of course. Something new to my ears...love it though!

...the mini bar which serves great drinks...

Our table, as usual was the noisiest table that night, consisting of a birthday boy; Gaston and nine ladies. It was a great night, meeting people, joking around with stupid jokes, having Tiffany 'berkaraoke'ing' too! and not forgetting, our first time drinking in Kuching! hahahahaha...

Thanks, Tiff...for bringing me to the gathering. Thanks to everyone from Bidayuh.Info...I had a great time there. Chaos!

A new day in Kuching...with the new Boulevard!

Woke up really early today for temple...*something to do with praying to the ancestors and eating the 'glutinous rice ball'* Yeap, all smell of smokes after the one hour in the temple with so many people there as well...and there was a huge fire near one of the altars (to be exact, my grandfather's altar) and apparently, as said by my grandma, it's a very good news! something like 'membawa berkat'. So, guess what we all did? Buy 4D and Toto!!! *Fully utilizing the 'berkat' - idea from my grandma herself*

Then my mum recook the food and we had lunch in my dad's shop before driving back home, picking up a package, drove to General Post Office to send the package, had McDonalds with my mum and back home, cleaning 3 whole chickens.

The new day starts after church. We went to Jalan Song for dinner (full house everyday) but guess what?! there were so little cars around the whole complex. There were so little people around as well. That was strange... After dinner, we went to Choice Daily (full house every weekends) but guess what?! there were no one there! The customers can be counted with my 10 fingers. Everywhere were so empty. Even Tabuan Jaya was empty...hmm...

You may guess why...

Let me tell you.
Boulevard Kuching is softly opened today at 11am! *claps*
Yesh, finally it's open...but not officially yet la...official opening is on 28th I think. I heard there's Bowling Arena, Cinema and an Ice Skating Ring as well!!! Wooohoo!!! anyway...doubts surrounds my head about the building... *process of building the shopping complex is way too fast...* but, it's ok. Finally Kuching has another new shopping center...and further more, it's so near my house...wahahaha!

So, that was the main reason why those 'full house' spots in Kuching were so empty today... Guess, most of the Kuching'nikians can't wait to visit the new 'jamban'. I can't wait to get there myself!

Boulevard, here I come!

The longest birthday...

19th December 2007 (Wednesday)
Finally! (or should I say...I'm getting old) I turned 21. *argh *yesh *nooo! *yippee!
I was looking forward to my birthday and at the same time, I hope that time won't pass so fast. I'm officially an adult now: can enter casino legally, can go out later in the night, can have more freedom, owns the 'freedom' key...
It was a long day and it started at 12am sharp that morning.

12am
Had my nails painted an hour before. Phone rang, msn buzzing, parents wishing me 'Happy Birthday' before going to bed and mum wore a key pendant on me. Yeap...a good start! Had stomachache because I had a whole McDonalds large coke...sigh~~ Was on msn call with Catherine; Thanks Cath! for keeping me awake!~ Was also thinking of what I want to do in the morning with my mum.

3.30am
"Good night!" and signed off from the internet and headed straight to bed... lullaby~~

8am

"Morning!" mum woke me up and headed straight to shower and got ready for breakfast. Laksa! Had a large bowl of Rex's Laksa; big prawns of course..
.took me half an hour to finish the whole bowl of spicy but delicious laksa. Next stop, Kenyalang Park for Christmas decoration shopping (couldn't find anything there except hearing Chinese New Year songs!) and to get my birthday cake...

a last minute cake...so kiddy one~~

...and not forgetting, Adeline's present 'Deedee'!...

12pm
Got home and logged on the internet but finally dozed off to sleep.
Woke up and realized that I wasted three hours by sleeping. Did some chores and got ready for dinner.

6pm
Went to 'Ah Tau Restaurant' at BDC for dinner. Birthday is all about food, food and food. Yeap. Had a great dinner with my family. Angeline called and we had a change of plans for the party later at 9pm.

7pm
After dinner, went to pick Jessica up and went back home to get ready for the party. Got dressed and went off to Riverside to get tickets for 'Golden Compass' at 11pm. Met Angeline and Valerian in front of the humongous Xmas tree in Travillion and headed to 'Zen'. It was a quite night, probably because it was still early. Ordered a jug of beer while waiting for Adeline and Evelyn to come. After our first round of beer, we left for 'Jungle'. It was Ladies' Nite and we girls had free Vodkas...which apparently tasted like Sprite...sigh~~

the ladies in Ladies' Nite

Next stop...'BarZing'. There was live band and music was better than 'Jungle' We had another round of Vodkas...which still tasted like Sprite...and hung around there.

our first time out to clubbing in Kuching

10.30pm
Time for movie! Left Travillion and went to Riverside's Metrowealth cinema to meet Natasha for movie...but...movie wasn't that great (un-understandable story line and a 'no ending' film) It was an ice-freezing 1 1/2 hour in the cinema. Finally, the movie finished...

...outside the cinema...

...inside the cinema...

1am
Headed to 'Soho' and guess what?! they were closing at 1am!!! Next door, 'Grappa'. Music was great but as we took a few steps in, the smokes were suffocating all of us, so we left. We decided to go back to Travillion and guess what again?! 'BarZing' was closed!!! sigh~~ We parked the car and later took a tour into the clubs there; 'Zen', 'Jungle', 'Las Vegas', 'Amoebar'... all these clubs were fully packed with humans and smokes~!

2am
Finally, we headed to McDonalds. Got some drinks and fries and we were gossiping all morning through... We left McD at 3am...That was the whole night out for club poppings around Travillion and I came up with a conclusion that clubbing in Miri is way better than clubbing in Kuching!

Waiting for results is...

It's been a year since I last sat for examinations and waiting anxiously but patiently for my results. So, today, the results for my first semester is out...

about 12am...
Catherine msn'ed me that the results are out in OASIS. I went to check but it appears that there are no results available for me. So I checked, and checked and checked...but nada, zilch! Jasmine msn'ed me asking about our results (she's in Mass Comm too). But she told me that the previous semester's Mass Comm results were not in OASIS. So, I checked in 'My Studies' but there was nothing... sigh...

before 1am...
Elizabeth msn'ed me and I told her about the results. She told me that the results for Mass Comm is always late. oh...ok! sigh~~ I was getting very impatient about it and I couldn't even get to sleep. Yea, after signing out, I head for bed but was a long, long night for me.

about 8am...
I woke up and got ready and went for breakfast and go to my dad's shop to help my mum to cook lunch. It was a whole morning of torture because I don't have internet access and I know the results are not out in the OASIS yet!

about 2pm...
I reached home and turned on my laptop and checked OASIS but...sigh...nada!

5 minutes to 5pm...
I was watching TV and waiting at the same time...and once the clock strikes 5pm, I logged into OASIS and... WALAH! MY RESULTS!!! all my stresses were all gone... Yes! I'm surprised with my results and I'm glad to have the feeling of 'getting examination results' again....

AWAITING FOR NEXT SEMESTER'S RESULTS...

Causeway Bay and Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium

If you want to experience Hong Kong food and environment, this is a good place to go. Situated in Crown Square with a RM1 parking fee, this is a place to have delicious Hong Kong delicacies to Western cuisine to even local food. Yes, this is my second time there and I would love to go back again to try some other food available.

...That's us, the food critics! Angeline, Valerian and me...

waiting for the food...watching a huge flat screen TV above us

I had cheese, ham and egg sandwich, Angeline had udon mee and Valerian had baked seafood rice and we had 2 side dishes; coleslaw and baked cheese mussels. Yum Yum... Everything costs us about RM50++.

Later was to movie, Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium. A nice movie but a sudden ending...hmm...We had an hour of 'nothing to do' time so these are some pictures of what we did during the 'nothing to do' time...

St. Peter's Church Holiday Camp (Day 1)

Date: 28th November 2007
Venue: St. Peter's Church

The first day of camp. Excited, blur, scared... The camp were organized by the St. Peter's Sunday School for children aged 7 to 12 years old.

I woke up at 6am and got ready and by 7am, I drove to pick Angeline up at Batu Kawa and later to Tiffany's house at Hui Sing. We decided to have breakfast then to church. As soon as we arrived, there were so many children already registered and had their things moved into the rooms but there were no helpers seen around other than Valentine, the organizer. hmm...we were shocked! Later then we met with three other helpers, Elizabeth, Melissa and Kelly and later at night, there were a few others; Moses, Joshua, Kelvin and Tiffany Jr.

We were then asked to help with the registration and also the designation of rooms for the children - 2 rooms for girls and a room for boys. There were anxious parents around the Parish Center, helping their children unpacking their things. It was 10am where the parish priest, Fr. Vincent came in for the opening prayer and a speech.

There were refreshments for the children and it was the first Action Song slot for me. Tiffany and I thought 'Hari Ini' and 'I'm Alive, Alert, Awake' and to our surprise, the children enjoyed the songs...We separated the children into seven groups namely Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday and a team leader appointed for each team. And soon, first group activity started...

The first day program was already arranged and apparently things got off the program when Angeline, Tiffany and I had to run the camp. So we did, and things were alright and the children listen to us, though...

Game time was great! But...not so for me because I had to play guitar for an hour...and my fingers were hurting... we played Musical Chair and A, E, I, O, U and the children loved it!

Shower time was a disaster! We didn't have any idea who is available to help! We had to run up and down to make sure everything is in order. Then it was dinner time... After dinner, the children went to church for rosary recitation and for mass. It was the only time where we were able to take five and so we did, by leaving the camp site and went home for a hot shower... We went back to the camp just before bedtime and got everyone to bed and lights off!

It was already 11.30pm, where we went out to Open Air and tapau food for supper. We had a short meeting for the next day's program. Tiff, Angel and I had to sleep in the girls' room and it was a very long night for me...waking up every 5 minutes until 6am *no sleep at all!!
