I'm a DIVER!

After 2 days in the classroom, 1 day in Stampark pool, 2 days in Satang Island and 1 day in the exam, I am finally an Open Water Diver!

...looking forward to more dives, especially the Sipadan trip end of this year...

Counting down the days...

My time spent in Kuching this trip is rather short and another one more day and it's off to Kuala Lumpur for an interview and hopefully to settle down for my career.

How did I spent my days here?
Lots of unpacking, packing, planning, swimming, diving (yes! I am a day closer to become a licensed scuba diver!).

Well, Kuching has been rather busy these few days. The Agong, the Sultans and the Governors of Malaysia are all here in Kuching for the 'Majlis Raja-Raja' meeting, the launch of the new Dewan Undangan Negeri, the Regatta River float, etc. Everywhere you turn, there's police and you'll find yourself stopping at a green light to make way for the VVIPs.

My skin is burnt badly and haven't been having enough sleep because of the sunburn pain on the back and my knees. Doing some final arrangements and packing and meeting up with friends.

Counting down the days.... one more day left!

Busy planning for what's next

Didn't know that it takes up a lot of time and planning to restart a new working life in another place away from home. I am glad to have the very long backpacking holiday right after my exam with Catherine. Now, it's off to planning for my future career...

This two weeks have been hectic. I had to unpack my things from Miri and to pack just enough for my long stay in West Malaysia. I can only bring necessary things along with me but for sure, those memorable gifts will be with me always.

Along with the very busy days, I took up my PADI Open Water course with Kuching Scuba Centre. It was supposedly a 4 days course but for our case, it extended to 6 days - 2 classrooms, 1 confined water in Stampark Waterpark, 2 open water at Satang Island and 1 final exam. Glad to have Wei Ling (my friend since Primary 1) to be my buddy. Will start the water courses this Friday and have been going to swimming pool for swims since last weekend. Though I am still a little afraid but I am determine to overcome this fear of mine. Catherine & Ming Yi, let's plan for a dive!!! :)

Settled my bank stuff too and finally managed to send the things back to Miri for Project Care. Been meeting old friends, catching up with everyone.

Couple of days left before I leave home again. I am deeply anxious but also a little afraid...

Moview Reviews

The list of movies I watched:

Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen
Watched this movie at GSC Gurney Plaza, Penang.
It was a nice movie, but the first sequel is better. Slept through one part of the movie; not because the movie was boring, but I was so tired. Deng~! I never sleep in movies. I would love to watch again, to know what I missed out.

Ice Age 3: Dawn of the Dinosaurs
Watched this movie in GSC Mid Valley in 3D!
Love this movie. It was my first time watching movie in 3D and it was amazing. Laughed my head off (as told my Catherine). A must watch movie!

...cool rite...

Blood, the Last Vampire
Watched this movie in Metrowealth, Kuching
Funny that Catherine and I decided to watch this movie. Thought it was something with lots of blood and killing (there are actually lots of blood and killing)...but it is so fake! The movie is just weird. Well, we got this movie ticket for only RM5.

Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince
Watched this movie in Star Cineplex, Kuching.
I hate this movie!!! All talk and no action! Deng! Wasted my RM10 over this movie...

It's another new life...

2 years flew by in a flash. I graduated! ...really?

I recalled leaving KL after 3 years to pursue my degree in Miri and back then, I was a little awkward to go back to studies after having a great time at work and earning my living. But, after sometime, I started to enjoy my study life, much more than before in college.

I packed my bags and memories for the past 2 years and left Miri. I am not good in farewells and I do not like them.

I am now, planning and drafting a new path, a path that determines my future. I am leaving home again, starting all over again in a new place, meeting more people along the way and determine to achieve my dreams.

I am afraid.

But, I have to do this.

Another week at home, another week to plan, another week to pack, another week to say farewell, another week to accomplish goals.

Another new life...

A dedication to...

I took me a while to put up this post.
A very big thank you goes out to everyone I met along the way in Curtin for the past 2 years; my coursemates, my projectmates, and my friends.

The Curtin Karate Club
It was great to be given the chance to learn karate with you guys. It was my first time to participate in any martial art challenge; Curtin Karate Challenge and thanks for the medals!

Curtin Volunteers!
It has been a year an a half where I was 'actively' involved with CV! especially in Orientation Weeks (being the photographer) and in some activities organized such as John Curtin Weekend 07, CV! Gathering, SCCS Golden Child Camp, Krokop Kindergarten Sports Day.

Curtin Media Team
A big thanks to Juliana, our sifu, for giving me the opportunity to work alongside in graduation shoots and editings. Learnt a lot from you and enjoyed all the coffee talks especially when everyone is stressed out with the projects.

John Curtin Leadership Academy Inaugural Batch 08
It still amazed me on how all 16 of us met in this academy and how close we got along the one year. Thank you to Catherine, Ming Yi, Gerain, Suhas, Johan, Shahul, Kairul, Hisham, May, Chuma, Dhiren, Samson, George, Khaliq and Shafini for the support and contributions to making our JCLA Batch the greatest. Thank you also to our facilitators; Haslina, Serina and Terence for guiding us through.

The Drinking Buddies
Didn't know Amy can drink lo... Adrienne, no doubt you can drink and make lots of jokes around. Yuki, a little off when she drinks too much. Catherine is now so afraid of tuaks, thanks to Rumah Ampik's experience. Remembered the time where we chill out at least once or twice a semester in Island and Balcony during the free weeks.

The Geology Girls
I do get confused with both you girls, Wong Ming Yi and Wong Li Ming. It is amazing to hear you girls talk about your studies.

Project Care
You guys are the best!!! Thank you so much for your unending support and all the time you spent on working on this project. Thank you guys also for the dinner that night at Banana Leaf and the 'blue-one-eyed monster' who was waiting for me in Tanjung. Guess what, the monster followed me throughout my backpacking trip! :)

Last but not least...
My endless thank you to my dear housemate, Catherine...
There's just so much I want to thank you. Thank you for being my housemate in Lot 3946; all the fun and laughter we had with the automatic gate, the aircond remote, the little creatures, the rainbow fishes. Thank you for being my best friend; my shoulder to cry on, my strength to work on our projects, my sister I never had, my encouragement to overcome my fears. Thank you for introducing and opening me up to many things in life. Thank you for teaching me. Thank you for the holidays. You are indeed the greatest friend anyone could ask for.

My thanks to everyone. All the best in your studies/careers and keep in touch!

See you again one day...

I'm Back!

I'm back!

Just had the most wonderful holiday ever...
2 weeks of backpacking in West Malaysia and a tiring volunteering as gate controller at Rainforest World Music Festival 2009.

So much to share and so much to remember and cherish for a long time.

A trip that I will never forget...
