Enough of sleep already!

Don't know why, but I have been so sleepy ever since the Krokop Kindergarten Sports Day last Sunday. It started with just a short nap after the event (I slept at 1am and woke up at 5am that morning). It was supposed to be an hour of sleep, instead it went on from 1pm to 5pm! ...wait, almost 6pm!!!

Later on that night, I expected myself to stare into space and not able to sleep, but the next thing I know, I doze off the moment I put my head down on the pillow. I have not a single clue about anything that is going on around me when I was sleeping. Not even a single sound woke me up.

Monday was another long sleepy day. I woke up at 8am, feeling rather hungry and decided to get some biscuits and milo for breakfast. The next thing I knew, I fell ASLEEP again on the couch while watching 'Simpsons'! I later woke up at 12pm for maggie mee and did some work and revision for my test next week. Soon, at 3pm, I find myself ASLEEP AGAIN!!! ...then it was dinner. I went to get dinner outside and continued my work. By 9pm, I fell ASLEEP AGAIN!!! I had to stay awake for a meeting at 10.30pm. It was hard to keep myself awake and alert when I'm half way dozing off... As soon as the meeting was over at 1.30am, I hit the pillow and SLEEP!

Tuesday morning.
Was supposed to wake up at 4am to do my work but after some confusions with Catherine and my phone alarm, I went back to sleep until 7am. Went out for breakfast and when we got back home at 8.30am, I went back to SLEEP!!!!!!!!!

Gosh! I need to stop sleeping! I need to stop feeling sleepy!!!

Beware of Crocodile!

This picture is taken at the wooden one-way bridge from Ng Sian Hap to Piasau Camp. I like to take this route back to Senadin because 1) Piasau Camp looks like some Western neighborhood far away from Miri, 2) Not much cars, 3) Nice sea view and 4) May bump into car/motorbike racers at the old airport track.

Now, look at this picture closely. Notice a green board on the right of the picture?

Now, here's a closer look at the signboard...

DANGER! BEWARE OF CROCODILES!

So there are crocodiles living in this area and this is how the Forestry Department warns the people living there. *sweats* ...and not sure whether it is a croc or not, but the guy who was with us this morning said he saw a croc swimming in the river as we crossed the bridge!

We wondered...
'Mummy, we have a pair of crocs!' a little boy shouted.
'No, we don't (referring to the CROCS shoe),' said Mum.
'Yes, we do!'
'No, we don't!'
'Mummy, come out and see the pair of crocs!' the little boy insisted.
Mum came walking out from the house and to her surprise, her son was right! It was a pair of crocs...not the CROCS shoe but two CROCODILES!!!

...not sure this is funny but that was what we came out with after crossing this river...

DANGER! BEWARE OF A FOUR-LEGGED REPTILE CALLED CROCODILE!

My handprint

...my handprint with 20 comments...

-something we did after every JCLA workshops (introduction and advance) where we draw our own handprint and pass the paper around to everyone in the room to have them to write their comments about us in it. still kept both of the handprints (now on my bedroom wall) and every time I look back at those days when we were just about to get to know each other in the Introduction Camp and knowing more of each other in the Advance Camp, the memories are just priceless-

JCLA is about to come to an end. Submission of our 2nd poster on the 11th May. Poster presentation on the 29th May and our graduation on the 6th June and that would be the end of the Inaugural Batch of John Curtin Leadership Academy in Curtin Sarawak campus.

Experimenting with iPhoto

Wanted to get a picture Photoshop'ed and asked Juliana about it. She recommended me iPhoto (it's a common application in Mac which I have yet to explore about it) and helped demonstrate what the software can do in photo editing...and...walah~

...tat's me with PD250 during Degree Graduation ceremony...

Now it's time to explore more on this software (if I have time lah~).
It saves a lot of time compare to Photoshop though.

Week Free...the Unology (is there a word?)

-UNOLOGY-
is there such word?

...dunnolah~ just trying to fit all my week free activities into one...
*this is going to be a very long post*

before I go on with this post...look at this car~~~~
I HEART THIS CAR!
*taken at Empire Hotel*

Week Free is over and I'm now in my 2nd half of my final semester in Curtin. 6 weeks of classes, assignments, mid sems and one week of pia'ing for finals and 2 weeks of finals and I'm done with my degree!

First week free was more or less of more sleeping (did I actually have more sleep...hmm...I think not~), no classes, swaying through the 'don-wan-to-do-any-assignment' mood, campus to transfer tapes for graduation ceremonies. It was rather a boring one but it was a good start.

Second week was rather crazy. Had a call on Monday and was being informed on the invitation to Anugerah Karyawan Muda in Kuala Lumpur on Saturday! ...it was like less than a week... I then quickly make arrangements and duh~! everyone knows that last minute booking of flights costs a bomb! I managed to booked Malaysia Airlines for both flights for RM420.00 (it was RM30 cheaper than AirAsia though) and got hold of my brother to accommodate me for two nights in KL. That was my Monday night~

It was another day in campus, this time around, editing for Degree Graduation but I think I spent my first half of the morning on finding ways around Brunei from the look at the map I found in Google and some photos from Juliana. And it was the start of meetings and meetings. Had like 2 meetings on Tuesday itself; one for International Marketing and another for JCLA.

Wednesday was a blast!
A trip to Brunei with Catherine and her car~! Had the petrol tank full that day and off we drove to Brunei at 6am. It was our first time there, on our own, with a very unclear printed map and a couple of hundred Brunei dollars. I'm proud to say (I know it's rather lame) that I had my new passport stamped for the first time!!!

...my first stamp in my passport...

...I'm on Zippi, not Digi...

...the boats with weird names on it...

We made our way to Muara and had our breakfast there before proceeding to get ourselves lost somewhere but hey~ we found our way around Brunei just fine *smiles* Drove to the airport, then to Yayasan for some window shopping and Catherine got excited when she found Dairy Queen and I got excited when I found cheaper SLR cameras, lenses and flash guns! *drools* Later was off to Gadong in search for good lunch where alas we found Crepe (chicken and beef pepperoni) *yummy* We finished exploring Gadong after walks at CentrePoint, Mall, and all the shop lots around that area.

...our lunch...

It was mid afternoon where we drove to Jerudong Park and ended up first at the Horse Range (which was actually a private area and visitors are not allowed to enter - as said by the caretaker who showed us the Royal family's horses stable with airconditioning!) So we proceeded to the park which was on the other side of the area and paid B$1 to have a very disappointing walk in it.

...we were waiting for the horses to get off the road...

...entrance to Jerudong Park Playground...

...that is to show how short I am...

...I like this photo - Catherine with lots of cats...

...see the dinosaur behind us...

...one of the nicest thing to take in the park...

...the cheapest food - Nasi Katok - B$1...

Then, we headed to Empire Hotel (as suggested by Juliana if we want beautiful sunset). Yes! It was a beautiful sunset there. We didn't spend much in Bandar so we decided to have a good meal before we leave Brunei. We went for the Empire Hotel International Buffet and gosh~ the food was great! Unfortunately the main dish for the night was Salmon Fish, so most of the dishes have Salmon and not forgetting a huge Salmon Fish on the buffet counter! -.-"

...can see a lot of things in this picture (the two human legs, the grass, the rocks, the sea, the small tiny island, the sky)...

...the beautiful sunset at Empire Hotel...

...our dinner...

After the nice fulfilling meal, we headed back to the CheckPoint and something funny happened...but ain't gonna go into that part of the trip :)

That was Brunei and I came home, half dead (slept half the day) and later had to pack for my sudden KL trip. It was nothing much, just a small bag pack and of course my SLR.

...a beautiful island along the way to KL...

...me in KLIA express train...

Took the flight to KL and yea~ I was back and this time in KLIA! Took the train and headed down to Low Yat to get something and spent my afternoon in Borders reading and later a cup of Old Town Hazelnut White Coffee and Auntie Anne's Cinnamon Pretzels. Met Alex and had dinner with Choulyee and later a Red Cliff movie marathon until 2am.

...I had a sudden shock when I stood here taking photo - the difference between Miri and KL...

...me love Cinnamon Pretzel...

...the yummy Pork Mee...

Had a very good dim sum breakfast before heading to The Mines for some window shopping. It was food, food and food, eat, eat and eat the whole day.

...the very yummy dim sum...

...Alex and Choulyee...

...the 'very-long-din-eat' Chicken Teppanyaki...

I met Mr. Rama and Edwin at Cititel Hotel in Mid Valley for the ceremony. Diyana (the previous winner from Curtin) came to pick us up to Angkasapuri. It was not as grand as I thought it would be. The show started at 8.30pm sharp and was aired live at RTM2. Well, we didn't win anything that night but it was indeed a great opportunity to be nominated for Best Documentary.

...me and Mr. Rama on the backdrop...

...me, Mr. Rama and Edwin (director of Asi)...

...taken before live...

Had to fly back to Miri early next morning coz that was the cheapest flight I could get - RM98! Bought Burger King! ...will never missed that out... and some Gardenia Twiggies and Muffins (my old time favorite) and had a walk around the terminal before departing and leaving KL again~

And now...here I am...blogging about my week free and worrying about my unfinished assignments due this week. Week Frees are never free and never boring as well~

...at least got sovenior lah~ from AKM...

Now it's time to PIA!!!

Anugerah Karyawan Muda was held on the 18th April 2009 at Auditorium Perdana, Angkasapuri, Kuala Lumpur. The show was aired live at RTM2.

Irama Tradisional was nominated in the Top 5 for Best Documentary.

...it was a great opportunity to be there for the evening. so much to learn and so much to be exposed with. i'm glad i chose to go for the event although our documentary didn't win any category...

-CONGRATULATIONS TO IRAMA TRADISIONAL-

Going for a short weekend in KL...

Depart from Miri to KL: 17th April 2009
Depart from KL to Miri: 19th April 2009

Reason to go KL?
I'm attending the Program Karyawan Muda awards giving ceremony on the 18th April 2009 at Angkasapuri, RTM. Representing 'Irama Tradisional' are Stephanie and I, while Edwin, Clara and Peter are representing 'Asi' to the ceremony.

Just found out that we were invited for the ceremony this weekend and dengan kedekutnya...Curtin won't be sponsoring us for the trip -.-" so, yeah~ have to pay our own air tickets and lucky me, I'll be staying at my brother's place and will have sometime for me to go jalan-jalan in KL........................

-in the progress of learning how to read Braille. it's very interesting-

Happy Easter!

...an Easter Egg from Catherine...

-love decorating Easter Eggs. remembered back when I was a kid, Easter is one of the time especially in Sunday School where we will bring our magic pens and hard boiled eggs to decorate and exchange with friends. hadn't been doing that for years. started decorating Easter Eggs again last year and this year's Easter-

went to Mater Dei's Easter morning mass and later to Miri Gospel Chapel, Senadin for their Easter service. well, had a lunch pack from MGC~ *smiles*

and not forgetting a very nice and fulfilling dinner at Cafe Miri~ *yummy*

HAPPY EASTER!

One bad FALL!

-one very bad fall and there goes a big scar on my left elbow-

funny thing was, it had been a long time since I last fall this badly and I missed the feeling of having those yellow/purple iodine on the wounds. i remember back in primary school, i return home basically with purple iodine on both my knees almost every week! i can run fast, but i can loose my balance easily too~

...now, all that's left of the wound from the fall is just new skin coming out...

Lepaking with EJ

It's been a very long time since meeting up anyone from MIIM. EJ, my ex-housemate in Wangsa Maju Section 4 is now back in Miri working at Dayang Enterprise. Had dinner at Seahorse, Piasau and yea~ food was yummy~~~ especially the fried chicken wings.............. *mouth watering*

...EJ hair grows tree...

EJ then drove me to her house and she showed me the things she got from the graduation ceremony last year. It was already a year since the graduation. Thinking back that I did not attend the ceremony, I am a little disappointed. It was a tough 3 years studying in KL and I finally pulled through with a Distinction but I wasn't there for the ceremony...

I didn't get the scroll, I wasn't in the photo but at least, I finally saw the group photo of all the diploma graduates and I'm happy.
